Our History

In the 1990s, watching English football was a difficult prospect in the US, with few matches televised and limited locations showing them. Some dedicated fans, including our own Eric Fearon, had been watching at the John Bull pub in Pasadena, but a new manager, no lover of soccer, was intent on pushing them out. Fortunately, there was a new pub in Pasadena: Lucky Baldwin's. Although proprietor David Farnsworth wasn't initially keen, Eric and others persisted, persuading him that a group of dedicated and rowdy football fans appearing at odd hours of the morning was just what he really needed. The LFC fans decamped there soon after, making it their home away from home ever since.

Eric founded Pasadena Reds as an independent fan group in 1996, encouraging LFC fans from the local area to come together and watch matches at Lucky's. As interest in English football grew in the US, more American fans discovered LFC, and the Pasadena Reds expanded. Sometimes it was slow, other times - including after the 2005 Champions' League final in 2005 - interest surged. By 2015, there was a good-sized group not only attending matches but also organizing other events and beginning to cement itself within a wider LFC fandom. LFC granted the Pasadena Reds status as an Official Supporters' Club in 2016 and we have been a proud member of the official LFC family ever since.

Now, the Pasadena Reds have many members: not merely hundreds of Facebook and Instagram followers, but most importantly, many who attend Lucky Baldwin's not just for the prestige games or the sunny Sunday 9.30 am brunch matches, but also for the brutal, bleary-eyed 4.30 am matches again EPL strugglers. We might be a little thin on the ground for some mid-week European group stage matches - although there's always someone there - but we've raised the roof and filled the pub to bursting and beyond for others. We now not only attract fans from Pasadena and the immediate area, but from the greater San Gabriel Valley, Glendale, Burbank and the SFV, and even beyond: some dedicated souls trek in from Redlands and even Tehachapi. Despite the broken sleep, despite traffic, it is worth it. We are not just friendly, but also friends, united by our love for LFC and ready to welcome visitors and new members alike.

The Pasadena Reds Board

OLSC Pasadena is run by an entirely volunteer board of local Pasadena Reds, who manage our relationship with LFC and with Lucky Baldwin's, oversee merchandise and events, manage our social media, oversee the code of conduct and act as the first point of contact for members.

Ticketing at Anfield

We strongly encourage all Pasadena Reds to obtain a full LFC membership

LFC are working hard to improve the ticketing process for home games at Anfield. Tickets are still in extremely short supply however and Pasadena Reds who wish to attend a game at Anfield need to plan in advance.

LFC hold two ballots for the first and second halves of each EPL season in July and November. Those LFC members successful in the ballot may purchase tickets for a specific match. The LFC ballot for the first half of the EPL season 2025/26 is closed. The ballot for the second half of the season is usually around September.

Tickets may also be available through the ticket exchange scheme in the weeks and days before a match. For more information Tickets

OLSC Pasadena can also obtain a very limited number of tickets for matches at Anfield for members. Those requesting tickets must be full LFC members, local to Pasadena Reds and preferably, active attendees at Lucky's. We will make announcements on Facebook, Instagram and the website when each opportunity opens. The sale for the first half of 2025/26 is now closed. If you think you will want tickets for the second half, plan it now, be sure, keep an eye on Pasadena Reds news and be ready to apply promptly. Our ticketing coordinator is Jamie Roddis.

If no regular tickets are available via the ballot or the OLSC, Pasadena Reds have often used hospitality tickets. They are expensive, no question, but they are far easier to obtain than regular tickets.

Please. Whatever you do, do not purchase unofficial tickets through other means. Methods of spotting unofficial tickets are becoming increasingly sophisticated and LFC will turn you away if the ticket was purchased through dubious means. Ignore offers on the internet. Avoid resellers. The only valid ticket is one LFC has issued to you.
